Our final day in Berlin meant one thing: icecream.
Okay, not just icecream, but a relaxing day spent walking and shopping. After some amazing homemade carrot juice in the morning we set out to Kurfürstendamm, the Champs-Élysées of Berlin.
As much as I enjoyed walking around here and seeing the sights (one of which is the beautiful Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church), these kind of streets full of designer shops and expensive restaurants are the same in almost every rich city
Next up Potsdamer Platz. As I said, we were shopping a bit today, so went inside the mall which was hosting an exhibition celebrating 25 years since German reunification. It was surreal to see, photos from the 1990s presented like real textbook history. I struggle to comprehend the fact that it all happened so recently!
I think the exhibition is on until October so go and check it out if you’re in the area!
Next stop, Caffè e Gelato. Not much needs to be said, other than bowls of icecream bigger than your head and amazing flavours (I had chili chocolate!).
Then home, to relax a bit before our early flight in the morning.
We actually ended up watching Love Actually and eating tapas…
Basically I love Berlin – take me back!
